Wallbarn’s Megapads are heavy duty pedestals designed to hold suspended paving which require greater weight tolerances and higher clearances. They support paving slabs, promenade tiles on flat roofs , balconies, terraces and podium decks.

Even flat roofs are built to a small fall to allow adequate drainage. Megapads help to achieve a completely flat upper paving surface. Positioning lugs create a clear spacing between each slab which allows drainage and gives a clear, uniform paving line between slabs. The rainwater runs between and under the slabs, so there is no standing water left on the surface. They create a cavity between the sub-deck and the paving slabs which helps ventilate the structure and allows services such as pipes and cables to be hidden from view.

This is a suspended system – the weight of the slab holds everything in place. Changes to height can be made whilst the slab is in place. This saves a great deal of time and labour.

Megapad pedestals are available in heights from 10mm up to 1,020mm. They are manufactured from polypropylene and can tolerate 1,400kg in weight per unit. They will not become brittle in low temperatures. Megapads have been tested using the CATAS procedure for Compressive Strength at +20°C and – 40°C. See technical data below for details.
