Description

Wallbarn’s TD Minipads are special smaller height pedestals suitable for suspended timber decking systems. They have been developed for customers who require a solution to areas where restricted and very low height thresholds exist but where minor alterations of height are still required to achieve a completely flat and seamless finish.

The 10-20mm TD Minipad has been designed for use when working with very tight spaces. The thread allows 5mm of change to the level with a 5mm extension plate which is fitted to the bottom of the pedestal.

The stems are telescopic, so users can turn the pedestal until it “bites” to the correct height. Changes to height can be made whilst the timber joists are in place. This means less cutting of timber as the pedestals adjust to fit the levels, which saves a great deal of mess, time and labour during installation.

Special handle grips have been incorporated into the design to help installers fit their fingers into this tight gap and can turn the pedestal to adjust the height.

This is a semi-suspended system – the timber joists will sit between 60mm wide positioning lugs / fins. The joists should be strong enough to support the decking and the weight of any traffic / furniture. The joists should be connected to form a grid framework and the deck boards – the surface – should be mechanically fixed to the frame.

Wallbarn recommends that TD Minipads should be positioned a maximum of 600mm apart.

TD Minipads are manufactured from polypropylene and can tolerate 400kg in weight per unit. They will not become brittle in low temperatures. TD Minipads have been tested using the CATAS procedure for Compressive Strength at +20°C and – 40°C. See technical data below for details.
